Review of SEIKO PROSPEX Great Blue Hole Special Edition Diver's 200m Automatic Watch SPB083J1

This watch is inspired by the 1968 original diver's watch, re-created with a thinner bezel. It's powered by a 6R15 automatic movement, which beats at 21,600 times an hour. It's a great watch with a ton of wrist presence. The blue and black sunray dial really makes this model stand out over the other black dialed models. The easy to read dial features luminous indexes and contemporary hands. The first impression that I got about the Seiko Prospex SPB083J1 after strapping it on is that this watch has a truly unique dial. The stunning blue gradient fill direction is different. The new Seiko has greatly improved the functionality, with the sapphire crystal, with more than 200 meters of water resistance in addition to the stainless steel strap.

FEATURES

As part of the Prospex collection, this model is a guaranteed premium timepiece with all the finery expected from Seiko's superior sport model series. The Seiko's house launches a limited version with unique features. Inspired by the sea of coral, the indexes express rays of sunlight penetrating to the bottom of the sea. Bezel and crown work smoothly as you'd expect, and it's been keeping time within a few seconds per day. Chapter ring lines up. The lume is typical Seiko excellent. The Seiko Prospex SPB083J1 uses Seiko’s trusty 6R15 automatic movement to ensure it provides dependable time-giving services to its owners.

DESIGN

It starts from a light blue pillar occupying the  markers in the middle and transitioning into dark blue towards the outer edges of the dial. Overall case diameter sits at 44mm with a lug width of 20mm. The watch uses an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and its case is treated with Seiko’s Diashield coating ensuring better scratch protection and corrosive resistance. The stainless-steel strap comes with a dive-extension and fold-over safety clasp which I found really helpful and with purpose. FINAL REMARKS

Casual on-lookers and bystanders are also attracted to the overall watch appeal and dial as it would get a noticeable amount of second looks from people. You’re sure to feel like a boss. These luxurious yet reasonably priced watches are perfect for the office and beyond.
